Hail & Welcome to the Clergy Training Program Landing Page!

After a hiatus we are excited to be relaunching our Clergy Training Program (CTP). The program has undergone updates in both format and content.

We are excited to offer a collaborative experience to learn not only the faith aspects of being a gothar but also the logistical and leadership skills to do clergy work.

What is the Clergy Training Program?
  • A path to obtaining legal ordination.

    • Legally recognized ordination enables clergy to conduct wedding and funeral ceremonies.

      • Note: Some provinces and states have additional educational requirements.

  • An opportunity for personal and religious growth.

    • This program focuses on self-development and education.

    • Regardless of current experience there will still be opportunities for self-development.

  • A pathway to serve the community.

    • For many, clergy work is seen as a calling rather than just a title, and this program is designed to help students initiate service within their local communities.

  • A collaborative learning experience.

    • Engaging with peers for both learning and teaching purposes can broaden an individual's perspectives.

  • Adaptive and Inclusive

    • There are many ways to learn and to demonstrate understand this program incorporates multiple source and optional recommended resources including videos

    • Alternate Assignments to allow students to highlight their strengths

What it's not
  • Asatru 101

    • Basics of Asatru are covered but introduction is not the purpose of the program.

      • *Beginner class and other programs are planned for the future*

  • An Accredited Academic Program

    • There are no accredited pagan clergy training programs available.

  • The One & Only Way to become a Gothar

    • Mentorship is wonderful, however finding a suitable mentor can be challenging.

    • Self-directed study and research is also a valid option.
