We are immensely excited that you're interested in the Clergy Training Program (CTP). We are excited to offer a collaborative experience to learn not only the faith aspects of being a gothar but also the logistical and leadership skills to do clergy work. 

 


2024 UPDATED Clergy Training Program

  • The program will be done as a cohort with new groups starting at regular intervals

  • Opportunities to work collaboratively while allowing flexibility and freedom.Structure to provide accountabili

  • Broken down into 3 Academic Terms & 1 Practical segment

    • First Term - overview of history, cosmology and general theology of Asatru/Norse paganism

    • Second Term - Types of Norse magic (overview of seidr, galdr etc) blots, rituals, planning and performing ceremonies (such as wedding and funerals).

    • Third Term - focus on the leadership and organizational skills of clergy; mediation & conflict resolution, religious counseling, and more.

    • *Final Term - will be practical application and volunteering in the community and Capstone assignment.

      • *This segment does not have a financial cost as you are serving the community 

        • This can be completed alongside 2nd & 3rd term   OR

        • After the rest of the program has been completed

 

What are the Requirements?


The individual must:


- Have practiced Asatru for a full year
- Agree to and pass a background check
- Have a High School Diploma or equivalent completion of education
- Be a charter member of The Asatru Community for at least 90 days
- Be active in their local pagan community (if applicable)
- Have the ability to travel independently


 
What topics are covered in the Clergy Training Program?
 

Courses cover modern and historic understandings of cosmology, theological topics including divinity, beings and sprints. As well as history, magic, ritual planning, ceremonies, conflict resolution, ethics, community service and more. 


How much does the Clergy Training Program Cost?

 

 TAC offers three payment options


1: A one time payment of $200 before beginning the course.
2: Three payments $80 at the start of each Academic Term. ($240 for classes)
3: 12 months of $25 Monthly payments ($300 total)

 

Discounts:

- TAC Volunteers receive a 50% discount after endorsement from their Director.

- Active Duty and Veteran of the Armed Forces (honorably discharged) receive a 50% discount.
